Ignite Learning Academy is designed to ensure students make meaningful academic progress without gaps—and without being held back.
Rather than placing students into a one-size-fits-all grade-level curriculum, we assess and place students at the appropriate instructional level so they can fill foundational gaps where needed and accelerate in areas of strength. This ensures students aren’t pushed forward without the skills they need, and they also aren’t stuck repeating content they already understand.
Because long-term success depends on strong foundations, students move ahead only after demonstrating a firm grasp of preceding skills. Our goal is to build confidence and competence as students progress—at the right pace and level for them.
Our curriculum is aligned to national standards and designed to teach course material through a variety of learning methods. Students learn through a combination of reading, games, videos, flash cards, interactive learning activities, and virtual and hands-on experiments, along with live instruction from certified teachers. Learning takes place both online and offline, creating a balanced approach that supports engagement and retention.
Students are typically assigned one primary teacher in grades K–5, and multiple content-area teachers in grades 6–12 so support is available across subjects. Teachers lead live instruction, monitor progress, provide meaningful feedback on assignments, and offer office hours to answer questions, re-teach concepts, and extend learning. Our teachers are certified, highly qualified, and bring decades of combined experience to the online classroom.
Teachers are available to support students and families through email, phone, and Zoom, with Zoom serving as our preferred method for instruction and academic support. Zoom allows teachers to share their screen, walk through concepts in real time, and provide clear, personalized teaching support. Just as importantly, live video interaction helps strengthen relationships and build meaningful connection between teachers and students.
Students are typically enrolled in 4–7 courses, depending on grade level and individual needs. All coursework is accessible 24/7 through one simple online dashboard, allowing families to structure the school day in a way that best fits their schedule.
Students also have many opportunities to build community and connect with peers through live classes, virtual clubs, class parties, in-person field trips and events, and other school activities. We look forward to “seeing” you in school!
