K12 Summer SchoolThe break between school years can be a long one for parents who are trying to determine the best way to spend their child’s time before they go back to school. Online summer school is one option for parents that offer opportunities for their child to strengthen their skills, explore interests, or benefit from a structured summer school program.

What Are the Benefits of K12 Summer School?

One of the main benefits of homeschooling is the ability to tailor your child's education to meet their individual needs. Rather than fitting the child to the curriculum, homeschooling enables a parent to fit the curriculum to their child by applying different learning styles to their child's strengths and growing their interests.

For elementary, middle, and high school students who like learning outside of the classroom, online summer school has numerous advantages. Here are some of the benefits of K12 ILA's online summer school program:

  • Exciting new courses that might not be available otherwise
  • Continued learning between academic years to combat summer slide
  • Continuation of earning credit on an accelerated path
  • Credit recovery options
  • An additional path to achieving academic goals
  • Supplementary classes for other educational models (homeschooling)

ILA K12 Summer School Program

ILA offers an online single-course curriculum for K-12 homeschool, afterschool, summer school, and interest skill building. Single-course enrollment is the perfect online learning solution for adding on your child's existing public or homeschool education and enabling your child to explore their interests during the summer.

With flexible scheduling and the ability to attend class from anywhere, parents and students can enroll in a diverse range of online courses to fit their schedule needs. All of our core English, Math, Science, and Social Studies courses, as well as foreign languages, health, fine arts, and technology courses, are available for single-course enrollment.

Most importantly, our lessons are designed to help students develop their knowledge, strengthen their skills, and explore interests through our structured curriculum.

How Our Online Learning Curriculum Works

ILA is a mastery-based online school, which means your child will need to have a firm grasp of the skills to advance in the curriculum. The summer program is designed to fully teach course material through a variety of modalities embedded within each course and is aligned to national standards.

Students will learn concepts through reading, games, videos, flashcards, virtual experiments, and a variety of other interactive methods, as well as live direct instruction from certified teachers. To ensure your child can have proper help when needed, your child is assigned one teacher in grades K-5 and multiple content area teachers in grades 6-12.

Teachers deliver live instruction, track students' progress in courses, provide detailed feedback on graded assignments, and meet with students one-on-one to answer questions, explain concepts, and extend their learning. Our teachers are certified, highly qualified, and have a combined teaching experience of decades.
