Accredited Online K-12 School for Pennsylvania Families

Finding the right school for your child should not mean compromising on quality, flexibility, or your family's unique needs. For families across Pennsylvania searching for an education that adapts to real life, Ignite Learning Academy (ILA) offers a fully accredited online K-12 program where students learn from certified teachers, progress at their own pace, and thrive in a supportive community. Whether your child is academically gifted, navigating a learning difference, balancing competitive athletics, or simply ready for a fresh start, our online school brings consistency and individualized attention to your home.

A Fully Accredited Online School You Can Trust

Accreditation matters, and it is one of the first things families should verify when comparing programs. Ignite Learning Academy is a fully accredited online independent private school, regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a globally recognized accrediting body. This status means your child's credits and grade-level placements carry reciprocity throughout the United States and around the world.

For students with college on the horizon, this is especially important. Our transcripts are recognized by universities nationwide and internationally, and our high school core courses are NCAA Division I and II approved as well as A-G approved by the University of California. High school students graduating from Ignite Learning Academy are viewed the same as students completing other regionally accredited institutions.

To earn and maintain this standing, our school has met the highest standards for instruction, assessment, data, stakeholder communication, and ongoing professional development. You can read more about our credentials on our accreditation page.

  • Continuity of education for traveling families, military families, and students facing life changes

Students at Ignite Learning Academy build confidence, independence, and real-world skills while exploring subjects that ignite their curiosity. To learn more about what makes our school different, visit our Why ILA page.

A Flexible Alternative to Homeschooling

Many Pennsylvania families begin their search looking for a homeschool option, then discover they want more structure, support, and accountability than going it alone provides. Ignite Learning Academy is not a homeschool program, even though learning takes place in your home or wherever you choose. Instead, we offer the best of both worlds: the comfort and flexibility of learning from home, paired with certified teachers who design, deliver, and grade the curriculum.

In our model, the parent or a designated coach plays an important supporting role at home, supervising the learning environment, encouraging progress, and helping the child stay on track. The certified teacher remains responsible for instruction, monitoring course progress, and providing robust feedback. You are never expected to be the teacher. That responsibility belongs to our qualified, dedicated staff, who are available by phone, email, and Zoom.

Academics Built Around Your Child

Our curriculum is aligned to national standards and delivered through a variety of engaging modalities, including reading, videos, virtual experiments, interactive activities, and live instruction from certified teachers. Coursework is organized by grade band so every student is appropriately challenged. Explore the full picture on our academics page.

Elementary School (K-5)

Our K-5 program keeps learning fun, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate. Young students attend daily live classes with their teacher and classmates, work closely with a parent or coach at home, and balance online lessons with offline, project-based activities. Core subjects include Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science.

Middle School (6-8)

Middle school students meet with their content-area teachers throughout the week and begin exploring a wider range of interests. Alongside core academics, they can choose from dozens of elective options that help them discover new passions and build skills for high school and beyond.

High School (9-12)

High school students take core courses with Honors, Advanced Placement, and credit recovery options available. They can pursue 14 Career Readiness Pathways to explore fields like Health Sciences, Information Technology, Finance, and Business before committing to a course of study in college. Students may also earn college credit while still in high school.

Across all grade levels, students can study Foreign Language, including Spanish and French, and American Sign Language is always part of our offerings. Dozens of additional electives let students explore the arts, technology, coding, and specialized interests.

Specialized Programs for Every Learner

Not every student fits a one-size-fits-all mold, and our specialized programs reflect that belief.

SPARK: Gifted and Talented

Our SPARK program challenges gifted learners with curriculum and instruction tailored to their pace and depth of thinking. Rather than simply assigning more work, we give advanced students new ways to explore ideas, test hypotheses, and learn by doing. Discover more on our gifted and talented page.

FIRE Academy: Specialized Support

The FIRE Academy offers accredited K-12 education for children with autism and other significant developmental delays who thrive in a self-contained special education environment. All curriculum is purpose-built to teach academic, life, and social skills. Students who have an IEP, 504 Plan, or who have participated in special education services in the past often find Ignite Learning Academy to be a safe, supportive place to grow.

A Recognized Leader in Online Education

Ignite Learning Academy has been named a Niche.com Best School for five consecutive years and has ranked higher than its main competitors nationally. Niche.com, the leading source for private school rankings, recognized Ignite Learning Academy as the third best private school in its home state of Arizona, measured against all private schools rather than online schools alone, and rated it the top online school in that state among both public and private options. These accolades reflect a consistent commitment to quality that families across the country can rely on.

Scholarships and Tuition Support

We work hard to keep a quality private education within reach for families of varied economic backgrounds. Several funding pathways may help offset the cost of attending:

  1. State scholarship programs that allow taxpayer funds associated with a child to follow that child to a private school, which in many cases can significantly reduce or fully cover tuition.
  2. State income tax deductions or credits that can be applied toward private school tuition and recouped, up to the state's determined amount, at tax time.
  3. Financial aid, which families are encouraged to apply for during the admissions process.
  4. Flexible monthly payment plans to spread tuition across the year.

Please note that Ignite Learning Academy does not accept vouchers. Funding options vary by state, so we encourage you to review current opportunities on our United States scholarship program information page. For full tuition details, visit our tuition page.

How to Enroll

Getting started is simple and quick. Our enrollment process follows four straightforward steps:

  1. Complete an application to let us know you plan to attend now or in the future.
  2. Submit required documents, including a birth certificate, the most recent report card, an IEP or 504 Plan if applicable, and proof of guardianship.
  3. Connect with an enrollment advisor to discuss course placement and build an appropriate, engaging curriculum.
  4. Begin your courses and connect with your teachers.

You can review each step in detail on our application process page.
